the first pit stop of many
Where there are houses many have set up to cater to those crazy enough to attempt the track. This is still on the first day so we are still walking and still feeling optimistic!

The track is quite steep in places - as you can see from this photo we have climbed some distance from the bays. There are hardly any houses in this part of New Zealand as it is only accessable by boat (or by walking the track) not sure I could live like that but it was very peaceful perfect for a few days relaxing.
Shame we were on a killer walk/ride really
Cheers again to Vos for the photos. The walk starts by following the coast round some desterted bays in beautiful scenery..
The begining of one of New Zealands best tramps the Queen Charlotte Track, in the Marlborough Sounds. This is what we were all gearing up to - one days walking 2 days biking with a rest day in the middle. It couldnt have started better gorgeous sunshine on the boat ride out to Cable Bay (only 70km to walk/ride back)....We were optimistic at this point
Totaranui in the Abel Tasman National Park. This is one of only two beaches in the park you can drive to (although its a narrow windy dirt road to get there). The other beaches in the park are only accessible by walking or from the water.
Actually just outside the national park a 40minute walk through rainforest took us to a beautiful waterfall - Thanks to Vos for the photo - you could have found a better looking model to pose though vos....
Apolgies to all friends and family who got phone calls on christmas day. I blame the Newitt brothers entirely for the festivities getting out of control...
Not quite the same as the Black Bull - No "Talk of the Town" - didnt feel like christmas at all despite the waitresses best efforts with festive hats.
On the way to the Able Tasman - this is looking down into the Cook Straight. The sea that runs between the South and the North Island
Also the sunniest part of New Zealand!
Pit stop on the way up the South Island - spot the difference? Anyone? Come on I know its hard but if you look long enough....
The Dave on the right isnt wearing a hat!! There you go I knew you'd get it if you look long enough.
