It's usually sold in smaller pieces, that pic was taken in Barcelona in February. Just chew it to get the sweet taste and then spit the wood out. Settles your stomach as well, very ancient medicine.

i like licorice candy laces. you can make moustaches out of them if you curl your upper lip, just so.
