    QUIET DIPLOMACY 1999

in 1999, i was fortunate enough to be among the six filipinos handpicked to join an advocacy training program for asia and africa citizens held in baltimore, maryland USA... organized by the johns hopkins university. one of the perks of the program was a tour of the UNITED NATIONS HEADQUARTERS in New York City...yup, the setting of the thriller: THE INTERPRETER that the characters regarded as a place for QUIET DIMPLOMACY.

the UN EXHIBIT AREA. in THE INTERPRETER, this was the place where the pictures of genocide/land mine survivors were exhibited. yung dinaanan nina nicole and sean nang ilang beses. Coincidence...ang naka exhibit nung andun ako ay artwork din ng mga african freedom artists.

this was taken sa UN PARK. sa movie THE INTERPRETER, ilang beses nagtatakbo sina nicole dito. in front of this globe artwork ay ang sculpture naman ng gun/revolver na nakabuhol ang dulo. yup, the same sculpture used sa movie. sa left side... the park and the riverside where nicole's anger was reawakened by what were written in the notebooks.
