After a garden frying summer and a frosty dry winter it's good to see flowering bulbs popping up throughout the Garden. These things are brightening my day each morning.

Since we've cut back on watering even more everyting is suffering the, the roses especially.
Early morning driving the MPS6 over to the other side of town and passing the National Science and Techology Centre (ie Questacon) the Questacon hot-air balloon takes to the sky.
In a week or too all the leaves will be off those trees as autumn claims them.

The Honeysuckle Precinct lacks parking, so the local government helpfully dissuades people from driving by charging $1 an hour to park on Sudnays (more every other day).
It's not working though, the area is packed with people and cars.

A short walk up from Isobar and we got to watch this ship being nursed into the harbour by tugs. Considering Canberra is lad-locked this isn't something I get to see everyday (hence the novelty value)
The small group I'm with are having lunch at Isobar (http://www.isobar.net.au) watching the working port of Newcastle.
The Royal Hotel, established in 1926 is a cornerstone of the Queanbeyan main street.
