Whatcha writing?

One thing I like about working from home...while the rest of the crew has been moving backup servers from London to Slough, I've been hanging out at home writing code. No interruptions! :-)

Excellent choice in a laptop, if I should say so... ;)

So how does one go about giving Phlog a Christmas gift to keep it going (i.e. donation)?

I was wondering the same thing. In fact, I thought I had sent you an email several weeks ago but never heard back.

Alan - phlog.net is overdue for a supporter 'donation drive'. I remember the last one - YEARS AGO - and you actually refunded the money because of the whole 20six kerfuffle. Your site members WANT to show support.

You have more than demonstrated your commitment and your personal integrity. It's time to pass the hat around and let us say 'THANK YOU' in a way that supports the community and provides some financial relief (even if just a little) for you.

Amen, bruddah! I have years of pix up here and I'm a dev, the least I could do is send a little money your way.

Wow, that's just made my day, guys. seriously. It's comments like this that make me a proud to be part of this little community.

Donations would of course be very gratefully and humbly received. It really does help to pay for the boxes! I'll put together a donation page - or '[email protected]' at paypal does the trick too.

I love phlog :)

Mr Gamber: I didn't receive that mail... may have got eaten by spam filter... I'll go check.

No problem, it was about this. But I did send it and never heard back so I thought there might be a problem somewhere. I use paypal, thanks for the address.

I also second the above comment about the laptop. My Macbook Pro has easily been the most capable laptop I've owned to date. That doesn't look like XCode tho. :)

Sent you a little present for Phlog via paypal... it's relatively little when you convert it to GBP from SGD.

But... THANKS FOR KEEPING PHLOG ALIVE!!!!

Or and I forgot to add a note to say it's from me. You'll see my full name instead :P

Thank you, Alan. Have just transferred some Aussie pesos to you. Hopefully the AUD-GBP rate doesn't make it look too pitiful. Would love to have some sort of auto monthly contribution if possible (less painful than one-off larger hits).

To echo Molly - THANK YOU FOR KEEPING PHLOG ALIVE.

Yay I'm so happy, OzDJ!

I hope a whole bunch of us does this together!!! It's beginning to feel a whole lot like Christmas... on Phlog!!!

Wow, thank you so much! :D

As long as there are people wanting to use phlog, I'll always find a way to keep it alive.

"But I did send it and never heard back" : I don't doubt you did sent it - I do doubt my spam filter however ;)

You're right, it's not xcode - it's textmate. Use both of them but depends on what I'm coding. This is Rails code... For a new version of a certain photo blogging site...

I like Merqury's idea of setting up something like Wikipedia's donation page.

Thinking about it, I think the address I sent my mail to was [email protected], not the address you posted for paypal. No matter, it's taken care of. As mentioned above, many thanks for keeping this site running! And yeah, you Brits have to do something about the GBP. The exchange rate from almost anything makes everything else look pitiful. :D

Oh yeah...I *still* use Notepad under Windows XP in a VM using VMWare on OS X to do html/asp/php stuff. How's that for retro minimalism? :-D
