Captains Log...Day 2. The battle of Hoi Van Pass was fought and conquered...with heavy casualties along the way. Starting in Hue, it was Matt and a Cow that duked it out, no thanks to Dame falling into a rice paddies and scaring the bajesus out of it...Matt 1...Cow back to work! As the troops advanced to Da Nang, it was a lucky escape for one Vietnamese lady...lets just say J walking is common and brakes no so good...Matt 2, lady luckily still walking...again no thanks to Dame scaring the bejesus out of her. From here it was Hoi Van Pass and this is where Commander Matt surged forward Gallipoli style. Hearts beating at 190bpm...dames at about 300bpm, the mountain, some saying larger than everest, was taken! Dame, well lets just say the mountain took him! Time for the troops to have some fun and its a 10km down hill, speeds reaching Mach 1, brakes BAD!!! but we did survive the free fall and make it to Da Nang, and China Beach for a well earned rest. 70km down, one big (you know what) mountain tackled, with 0 casualties. In total, 185km ventured. We set sail early tomorrow, lets hope the fighting isn't as fierce as today...
