On a carousel...

    On a carousel...

The mall is today's kids' playground. Tsk-tsk...

    Riding along on a carousel
Trying to catch up to you
    Riding along on a carousel
Will I catch up to you?
    Horses chasing 'cause they're racing
    So near yet so far
On a carousel, on a carousel...
    The Hollies

    Hiyo, Silver... Awaaay!!!

    Hiyo, Silver... Awaaay!!!

Carousel. There's no Tagalog word for it. The closest
is from the Spanish "tiovivo" which we'd pronounce as
"chubibo" (I thought it meant ferris-wheel). Karussel.
    Carrossel. Carrousel. Giostra. Meri-go-rando! :-)

    Suburban Sprawled

    Suburban Sprawled

And this area used to be farmlands, with cows,
goats, carabaos and horses grazing everywhere.
The Bureau of Animal Industry, I think, used to
be based here. And we'd go at dawn there with
our bottles to buy fresh milk and cheeses- cow's,
goat's, or carabao's - Great way to start the day!
But now ... it's the suburbs ... Progress???

BTW, those are the hills of Antipolo across Laguna
    de Bay in the background.

    "Used to be my playground..."

    "Used to be my playground..."

This whole place used to be one big mango orchard!
And not to forget, the national Snake Farm used to be here,
too. And there in the background, that's Mount Makiling.

This used to be my playground
This used to be our pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy

'Tis the Mary month of May

'Tis the Mary month of May

May is traditionally dedicated to the Holy Mother Mary. In the parish, I think there was a crowning ceremony and a village procession with carruajes (or carriages) of her various titles/personages. And here she is in her different personages inside the main church for everyone to see and honor.

(Pardon the blurry images - I was sneaking shots just before Mass)

    Ahhhhs...tea!

    Ahhhhs...tea!

Ahhh, citrus-flavored iced tea to quench my thirst
after shopping and schlepping all over the mall on
a warm and humid summer's afternoon.
