    the medium is the massage

after a long exhausting week of hard work and stress, nothing could be more relaxing like a full head-to-toe massage in the comfort of one's home! ahhh... I think I'll call them now and have 'em sort out my kinks...

    Da Dog Run Run Run...

    Da Dog Run Run Run...

What dog can resist playing here? I know my dogs can't!

Finding wide open spaces of soft green grass caressed by fresh breezes and magnificent shady trees filled with bird song is getting more and more difficult in overcrowded Metro Manila. That's why I relish pockets of paradise such as this.

    Whew!

    Whew!

My dogs and I are starting to run out of nearby "playgrounds" as more and more green and grassy lots are being built on. I'm glad that whoever owns this plot of land is keeping it unsold, unpaved, untouched, so my dogs and I can still enjoy roaming and playing here. I hope it stays a free zone forever and ever...

    The Eggplant (Bow)

    Ako'y isang talong,
though I'm not yet very long.
    I'm a little eggplant
    short and stumpy.
When I grow a bit more
    I'll taste yummy.
    Grill me, roast me, mash
    me, stew me, eat me...

    haha, just being silly...

    Hill through the Grill

    Hill through the Grill

It's the time of year again — that time when we all have to renew our village sticker for the year! I was glad to see there wasn't a long queue or a crowd but I still had to wait while the staff verified and processed my application. To keep from getting bored, I looked around to admire the park that the Garden Pavilion looked out to and decided to photograph it. I noticed that whenever I photograph anything, the people around me stop and stare, peering curiously at what it is that I'm shooting at. I get really amused when they don't see what's so "special" about what it is they think I see and they keep peering, as if hoping they do see it. And then they wonder ... "what's so photographable about a window grill?" Goes to show: Beauty is all around us but it is still in the beholder. :-)

    Homeless and Hungry?

    Homeless and Hungry?

The dogs and I were out in the backyard the other morning when I heard some loud and unaccountable rustling on the other side of our fence — there shouldn't be anyone or anything there because it's big empty private land, a buffer-zone between the subdivision and a main road (Daang Hari). So I lifted up my camera over the fence, just clicking randomly, to see what it would capture ... and voila! A strange and scantily clad figure walking along, holding a panungkit (a long stick with which to grab fruits high up in trees) and eating duhat. I couldn't even tell if the person was male or female, young or old, but I felt really sorry for him/her. So sad. He/she looks homeless. He/she can have all the fruits he/she wants if that will help ease any hunger, even for just a while.

    Much Ado About Nada

    Much Ado About Nada

So much fuss over a piece of fiction! Fiction being the operative word here ... helloooo!!! Popular though the book or movie has become, I still don't see why the need for this public umbrage and petulant indignation, especially since it does not at all reflect the views of the entire community!!! Kainezzzzz!!!

Whoa, look at that chunky cellphone!!! At the time this terminal was painted, that cellphone must have seemed a pretty "hi-tetch" gadget! But with the lightyear speed that technology advances and evolves, it now looks so clumsy and SO-LAST-MILLENNIUM!

    Staking its claim?

    Staking its claim?

A neighborhood nomad seems to have made itself right at home here — sprawled lazily on the garden seat of what-seems-to-be an abandoned house along University Avenue.
