One rainy Saturday, I joined a group of photographers from the PinoyPhotography.org on a supposedly photo educational trip along Roxas Blvd. The whole thing was organized by PiPho and Mr. John "Magic Eye" Chua, truly one of the best photographers in the country today. The activity was actually a dry-run for a photo contest that would be held on October. In attendance were over 80 amateur and pro photogrpahers. We were subdivided into groups and the pro members were supposed to teach us techniques and photography styles.

You'll find a lot of interesting subjects while walking along Roxas Blvd. I always wanted to capture ordinary objects and make them appear somewhat extraordinary through my camera. I still have a long way to achieve the level of the pros.

I found this one in front of a bar/resto along Baywalk. Is he about to wink? or is that a scrowl? hmmmm....

It was just 4:30pm, but the bars along Baywalk were already arranging their plastic chairs and tables in preparation for the night ahead. Ever since Baywalk was "restored" by Manila Mayor Atienza, the whole stretch from the US Embassy to the Manila Yacht Club has become a major destination for yuppies, teens and pro-drinkers because of the availability of cheap beers and pulutan as well as live performances from various jazz, r&b and rock bands.

Monobloc chairs and tables are often used by bars and restaurants along Baywalk. They may not be the most aesthetic but they are the most practical.

A panning shot. The whole process was explained to us very well, it appeared to be very simple, but you still need a lot of practice to actually produce a good quality one. In this shot, the boy should have been a little sharper. But this is the best that I could do, for now.
