Arrived at the post office early this morning to pick up a parcel containing our new house numbers, which were ordered from eBay.

The sweet excitement quickly turned sour when I discovered the vendor had stooged me (inadvertantly or otherwise) and shipped only two of the three numbers we need for our house.

Have just sent off an email to the vendor. Will advise outcome in due course. Errrgh!

Another software vendor. Another sales pitch.

With a $3M contract at stake, you'd expect that their demo would be slick and their messages consistent.

I'm finding myself torn between the need to laugh or cry. Their application is spitting up runtime errors and their sales team are "debating" which are the most important features to show us. Oh dear.

This is the second vendor/application we're evaluating today. The business representatives, including me, are expecting to see a working demo of the software. Instead, we are getting one Powerpoint slide after another detailing system architecture.

While I appreciate and can understand what the vendor is on about, the looks on the face of some of my colleagues is priceless.
