Texas Hills
Yes, we do have hills, and mountains, in Texas. To own a home along this hillside takes a lot of money. The hillside surrounds the lake is and fed from underground springs. Crystal clear..the lake is a famous location for would be scuba divers.

Gruene Hall
Nationally recognized, and location for a few motion pictures, this dance hall encompasses the word "get down" and dance. After a day of camping and river rafting, we always come here to enjoy great music and friends.

Mighty Guadalupe
The Guadalupe River is one of the most famous in Texas. Campers come from miles around to test the rolling waters. It's common to see groups of 10 to 20 people linking tubes floating along together... all surrounding one tube holding the cooler full of beer!

World's Largest Urban Bat Colony
Known as the "World's Largest Urban Bat Colony", Austin, Texas has quite the following of spectators each evening at dusk. The bridge is packed with people looking over the edge hoping to see the first bat fly out. We decided to stay bit in the distance, since it was out first time out viewing.

Walking through the Wimberly shops I spotted what I thought was a ceramic dog. To my surprise, this little beauty was sitting patiently waiting for it's owner to come out of the shop.

Hill Country Real Estate
This gorgeous home sits high up on a hill and is for sale for $1.3 million. The elderly lady built the home and never lived a day in the home. The home was open for an estate sale, more for lookers than buyers.

Tiny Little Lady
Taylor is the newest member to our family of pretty girls. She was born 2 months early and has now been home a month. Taylor is tipping the scales at 6 pounds. I'm holding her tiny little body in my hands.

Dogwoods of Valley Forge
The stark pink blossems, so very much apart of Pennsylvania, were dotted throughout the memorial of Valley Forge.

Valley Forge National Monument
The National Memorial Arch was dedicated June 19, 1917. There is a six mile bike and foot trail in and around the park as well as ten miles of horse trails. Along the dogwood trail you will see miliary housing and various historical noted sites. The land holds a memorial to the Continental Army who faithly held the land during one very cold winter.

Valley Forge Housing
Rolling through the hilly path, these huts were creatively placed to appear as a subdivision. The noncommissioned soldiers were housed twelve to a hut. The Soldiers Huts held the following dimensions, fourteen by sixteen each side. The roofs were made tight with split slabs and the sides held tight with clay. Fireplaces were made of wood and secured with clay on the inside and eighteen inches thick.

We have many pretty young ladies in the family. Ashlea, my sister's daughter, was a finalist in the Miss Houston USA beauty pagent. Ashlea moves on to Miss Texas USA.
