The new cutlery arrived at 08:50 today, Wednesday 23 March 2005.

We had to decide what to discard from our old cutlery drawer, and here is a picture of our new Elara cutlery in its 8 compartment port:

10 Table Forks, 10 Dessert Forks, 10 Dessert Knives , 10 Table Knives
10 Teaspoons, 10 Soup Spoons, 10 Dessert Spoons, 6 Serving Spoons.

We experimented with having the handles up or down in the port. The natural way would be to have the handles up, but this gives two problems:

1) As you can only see the handles you may have difficulty picking out the right implement.

2) With forks and spoons the working end is more bulky than the handle, making it a bit of a squeeze having ten of them in the same compartment.

So, we have the teaspoons and knives handle up, and the forks and other spoons handle down.
