Ramgarh and Mukteshwar, December 2005
On my way back to Delhi from Almora, I stopped for a night at Ramgarh (near Nainital) to visit the Mukherjees, Masi's friends from Almora who have bought a cottage at Ramgarh.

Google's Picasa 2 has a feature that lets you see the colour histogram and EXIF information for each picture. Was amused to see the histogram look like the picture itself :-)

This is what I see from my bed, out of the window. The pictue has faint gray splodges near the top because I took this through the wire mesh window.
My first view of the Himalayas from Masi's terrace. Baba and I had come here in June (see earlier entry) but the skies were too hazy and it got too cloudy after sunrise then. Had not imagined that the view could be this great all day long.
Masi enjoying the Sun on a cold winter morning in Almora with a makeshift Beach Umbrella. I got here at 9 in the morning and was a good decadent nephew and sat out in the sun all morning and even had lunch out on the terrace.
Returned from Heidelberg to Munich and then flew out to New York city . My first time in the Big Apple (2 days as a 9 year old don't count). Loved staying with Gulan Mami and BL Mama and hanging out with them (she was off work that week) on the west side, down near chinatown, sampling interesting fare...
From Munich, I headed to Heidelberg, where I met Neeraj (and his family - Elisabeth, Fabian, and Florian). Was great meeting the kids for the first time. As the pictures show, I can build sand tunnels as well as the best of them :-)
This has been a wonderful summer. Left the Delhi heat to first enjoy Arnt and Trish's hospitality in Munich, and then to go bike riding in the Bavarian Alps. More pix here .
From Almora, Baba and I went to Chaukori, about 3 hours away. The
views of the Himalayan peaks were wonderful on the drive, but by the
time we got to Chaukori, the clouds had taken over and we only got to
see the peaks again the next morning at 0530. More pictures of the drive there
and back to Kausani.
