The soul is indestructible and its activity will continue
through eternity. It is like the sun, which, to our eyes,
seems to set at night; but it has in reality only gone
to diffuse its light elsewhere.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Nice shot. Invokes a lot of associations, maybe a spell...
Goethe was wrong on this one though, the sun hadn't gone anywhere. :-)

Yep! A Halloween spell! I think Goethe was right, harald — the sun went to the other side of the earth to shine its light there! Maybe at this time when I took this, it was on its way to Eduardo in Rio or Shirley in Edmonton! ;-)

Sorry Jigs, you follow Goethe to his error. Actually, YOU and Goethe of course, went away, by turning with the earth's rotation. Though the sun by no means is static, relative to earth it's position varies little. :-)

How very scientific of you! I guess Herr Goethe and I are still in the medieval ages when we'd like to think that the sun revolved around us. Our poetic hearts overrule our rational minds. ;-)
Go ahead... Dish!
