Tuesday morning finds me at Changi (airport not detention centre) having a quick cup of coffee prior to a flight to Hong Kong. I have eschewed the new Premier Lounge (which was full of people) in favour of one of the many coffee places that have sprouted up in Terminal 2. I chose one close to the ATMs rather than stagger to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

The capuccino pictured cost me S$4.80. It's a bit over extracted and far too hot (note to OzDJ - give this one a miss if you're ever passing through).

I can't believe I missed this entry on the first time around! Sorry, F'Moh - I wasn't ignoring you! ;-)

To make a sweeping generalisation, airport coffee is simply the most expensive "one star" coffee you can buy anywhere on earth. Indeed I can count on ONE finger, the number of places where I've had good airport coffee. That was in a snowbound O'Hare (Chicago) Airport back in 1997!

Hey, that wouldn't be the old Starbucks coffee cart in the International Terminal would it? In the old days before Starbucks went global, the coffee cart in O'Hare was the place I had my first non-Italian cappuccino (and relished it)
C'mon. Say something!
