His recent Green IT postings got me thinking about just how much power we waste on idle devices at home. The biggest culprit is the old PC upstairs (AMD 2800XP+) with it's half a dozen drives which whir day and night - and is rarely used!

I've just impulse-purchased an Asus Eee Box B202 with the following config:

Intel Atom 1.60Ghz
80GB SATA 5400rpm
2GB DDR2 RAM
Windows XP Home SP3
802.11b/g/n WiFi
10/100/1000 LAN
SD/SDHC/MS/MS Pro Card Reader
4 USB Ports
DVI-I
SPDIF/Mic In/Line in
SPDIF/Speaker out/Line out
65W PSU
1yr warranty
